Our Policies
Our policies are here to protect both you, (the guest) and ourselves (Durham Court Motor Inn). We thank you for your understanding and are happy to answer any questions regarding our policies.
Please see our policies outlined below.
Best Online Rate Guarantee
How the Offer Works
Decide on your preferred room type (including check in and check out dates) and purchase the best available rate online.
At the same time as your purchase, if you find another website that has a retail rate available for the same room type, date and number of guests which is lower than your purchase price call the motel direct to register your claim.
Once we have verified the availability of the Lower Online Rate (defined below), we’ll offer you 10% off that rate per night for your booking.
Not only will you get the best rates by booking at our motels, you won’t pay booking or service fees.
^^ Best Online Rate Guarantee Terms & Conditions
The guarantee applies only to rates for Durham Court Motor Inn purchased online on one of our above websites.
Claims under this guarantee must be made at the same time as the accommodation is purchased. Claims must be made by calling the motel direct.
The accommodation purchased must be the lowest available rate for your chosen motel and room type; if there is a lower rate available for the same motel on our website and you do not purchase it then you do not qualify for the guarantee.
“Lower Online Rate” is defined as being a published retail rate available via a website operated by another online retailer for the exact same motel, room type, sales conditions and number of guests that is cheaper than the published retail rate purchased on our website at the time of making the booking. Corporate, package promotion, wholesaler, group travel, government and other discount rates are not eligible.
We must be able to verify the availability for purchase of the Lower Online Rate online at the time of claim. Other methods of verification (e.g. fax, email) are not acceptable. If we cannot reasonably verify (in its sole discretion) the availability of the Lower Online Rate at the time the claim is made by phone then we may decline the claim.
Once a genuine rate difference has been established we will modify the room rate you are to be charged.
The refund is the sole and exclusive benefit that will be provided under this promotion.
We reserve the right to terminate this offer at any time without notice
Not valid with any other offers, promotions or discounts.
Not valid from online auction or member-only sites.
The Lowest Online Rate Guarantee applies only to online rates available to the general public. Group rates, corporate rates, wholesale rates, association rates or rates which are part of a travel package do not qualify.
Cancellation Policy
Not showing up or failing to contact us will incur a charge of one night’s accommodation.
Cancellation periods may vary for group bookings, minimum stay bookings and peak period bookings. For some peak period bookings such as Christmas and the New Year our cancellation period increases to 96 hours. Due to the high demand at this time of year cancellations during this period are non refundable. If in doubt, please call us.
Reasons for Policy
While we always regret the necessity to impose charges upon guests who do not use the accommodation, we have found it necessary to make these charges in the certain circumstances set out above in the hope that it will encourage guests to assist us in advising of any travel changes at an early time to allow us to relet the room with minimal loss.
We believe that our cancellation policy is more generous than most particularly in our offer of accommodation credit in a number of circumstances.
We also continually set out room rates at base levels without building in a provisional cost of “no-show” guests.
We hope that you will understand the basis of our policy and to keep us informed of your plans to avoid any unnecessary charges.
Thanking you for your support.

Bond
SECURITY BOND / CREDIT CARD AUTHORISATION:
A credit card authorisation (pre-auth) will be asked for at time of check in and will be used to cover incidental items such as (but not limited to):
Telephone, internet charges, minibar and breakfast charges
Any breakages or damage incurred during your stay.
Any excessive cleaning charges, above the normal level of cleaning due to the room being left in an unacceptable state.
Additional servicing / cleaning charges.
We pre-authorise all credit cards upon arrival.
Please note this process validates the presented credit card, and protects both the cardholder and merchant from increasing fraud incidents. We may pre-authorise a credit card for any charges we determine that the guest may be likely to consume during their stay. This may also include an amount to cover a security bond / deposit for damages.
The pre-authorised amount is set aside by the credit card company for a period of up to 10-days. The pre-authorisation will affect your available funds and / or spending limit. For more information on this practice we suggest the cardholder contact their card issuer.
No money is taken from your credit card but it will show as a ‘Pending Transaction’ and you may choose to use a different payment type to pay your final bill.
The minimum amount of funds we pre-authorise is the total accommodation charge plus a minimum bond of $300.
Once a pre-authorisation has been made, we cannot release, remove or lower the authorised amount, until we process the final account on departure. This is a restriction placed on us by the bank and cannot be negotiated.
Upon departure the bond will be refunded to your credit card if you chose to pay with another method for domestic credit card holders this process may take up to 72 hours. If you’re an international card holder this may take longer depending on your financial institution.
EFTPOS, VISA and MASTERCARD DEBT, CASH AND ALL OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED:
Without the above mentioned credit card (pre-auth) bond, we can accept a cash security bond at time of check-in.
The minimum amount of payment is the total accommodation charge + a minimum bond of $150.
We reserve the right to reject bookings, evict and / or remove guests who cannot provide enough bond to cover potential damage / charges. Guests who damage property will be blacklisted from Durham Court Motor Inn and we may choose to involve / notify the police.
Cash bonds will NOT be refunded until a complete inspection of the vacant room by our staff has been conducted.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE:
The registered guest name is the person is responsible for the motel room and its contents for the period of registration. The registered guest will be liable for damages caused by third parties, including but not limited to visiting friends; regardless of whether the registered guest is present or not at the time the damage occurs.
BUT I HAVE PREPAID MY ACCOMMODATION.
You may have prepaid your accommodation with one of our online suppliers. In this instance you will only be asked for a credit card authorisation or bond to cover the incidentals of your stay.
If you do not have any charges on your account when you depart this authorisation or bond will be returned to your form of payment.
This is a requirement for the motel to accept your booking. The motel management team have no authority to reduce or limit the amount of bond taken.
WHY DO YOU DO THIS?
Unfortunately our industry is regularly being targeted by people who are using stolen credit cards and or just choose not to pay for their stay. We have 5-10 credit cards a month that are rejected when we go to authorise them.
The only way we have to protect ourselves is to pre authorise credit cards and or take a cash payment. If we do not take a bond as well then we have people who leave without paying. And this in turn means that everyone else has to pay.
Unfortunately it is the small number of people that can potentially cost us a lot of money that has meant this policy has been introduced.
We thank you for your understanding
